Cleaning products remain safe to use.
You know those orange and black warning labels that appear on certain cleaning products telling you not to drink it or pour it in your fish pond or scrub your little brother with it?, well the EU safety patrol have once again decided to poke the anthill and see what happens.
From June 1st, the safety labels are starting to change. You may see new black and white labels bordered in red to draw the eye, on cleaning products made and sold from the EU. The UK Cleaning Products Industry Association (UKCPI) is keen to reassure people that these products remain safe to use.
In a statement, the association said that while “product labels and their related safety sentences may change, all products remain safe if used as intended“.
The labels will be changed over completely during the next two years.
